This project was designed to provide the electricity requirements of a community called Madhuca in Auroville, by means of a Wind Solar Hybrid System. 4 kWp of Solar Photo-voltaic panels were installed along with a AEP 1500 Wind Battery Charger. These load a 24 Volt Battery Bank of deep discharge lead acid cells of capacity 12,500 Ah.

For the installation of the wind battery charger, financial assistance of MNES was sought.
The wind charger compliments the SPV panels very well during the monsoon months when the solar radiation levels are low and the wind speeds are maximum.
